Distribution: Cosmopolitan, 100 spp. in tropical America, ca. 80 in China. Phylogeny and inclusion of Allantodia, Callipteris and Monomelangium see Wei et al. (2013), updated by Wei et al. (2025). There are many (13) new species for W-Malesia in the dissertation of Praptosuwiryo (2008) which have still not been effectively published. They are not listed here and have been moved to the quarry of uncertain names.
