Ver. 19.2
April 17th, 2024

042.0000 Family Davalliaceae (Gaudich.) M.R.Schomb.; Reis. Br.-Guiana 2: 883 (1848)
1-4 genera, ca. 60 spp. In the newest revision by Tsutsumi et al. (2016) all genera are merged into one Davallia sensu lato. Gymnogrammitis and Leucosoria have been moved to other families. As with other genera, we prefer not to merge everything into one monster genus and keep Davallodes separate.

Distribution: Mostly trop. and subtrop. Asia, some Pacific and Australia, few in Canary Isl. (1) and trop. Africa (1). Systematics in Malesia following for better alternatives mostly Nooteboom (1994), who sank too much into synonymy fide Fraser-Jenkins (2008).
